Today in Math we continued our study of the multiplication of decimals. A great time was had by all. Homework tonight is Lesson 4-8 in the Practice Book, both sides.
Also in math, I've started putting the "Morning Math" problems on paper, for parents to see how we spend fifteen minutes of class time every day, and for students to have the chance to complete every problem for the week. Each week's worth of "Morning Math" will be due on the following Monday. In Science we examined the ways in which animals and plants help one another. We also looked at some species whose members interact with and assist each other in groups. Worm posters live! Room 15 students got to explain theirs today.

Report cards were issued today. Students should return the envelope to school with a parent/guardian signature.
In Science today, Mrs. Schonberg came in as guest teacher to read an article and see a video on composting. On Monday, she'll return to help Rooms 12 and 15 write a composition about composting, from the point of view of a worm or a piece of the compost! Should be interesting.....! In Math, we tackled multiplication of decimals by decimals for a second day. There will be third and fourth days next week. No homework. |
