It was a nice first day of school at Shaw for Rooms 12 and 15. The weather was indescribably hot, but the students were as cool as cucumbers.
Students received their textbooks, reviewed their school supplies, played some get-to-know-you games and activities, and learned what the Elixir of Life is (just ask one of them!)
Everyone has homework for Mr. Mistretta-- please fill out the form at the bottom of the "First Day" newsletter I sent home with your 5th grader, and return it to me via your young scholar tomorrow. I appreciate it very much.
The newsletter outlines the different ways I keep in touch with parents when I can't call everyone at home-- the Remind app, the Google Classroom, and this class website. It's important information to have on hand for those tearful moments at home when your little one doesn't know what's going on at school.
You can find a copy of the First Day News on the "Documents" page of this website, too.
