Today in math we did multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. We do not have any math homework tonight.
In science we took our water test. And over the weekend make sure you collect extra things you can use to build a structure for our project. Today in math we learned another way of multiplying fractions. We now have mixed numbers to multiply in addition to whole numbers. Our homework is Practice book 7.9 If your 5th grader is having trouble with it, set a time limit of 30 minutes to work on it. Then write me a note to let me know what's going on, and I'll take whatever your child was able to complete.
In science we did more math because we had second steps this morning. Also, the morning math for the week is for homework, due tomorrow, both sides. In science we studied for our science test (on Friday), and watched a Mystery Doug on the Leap Year. IF YOU CAN PLEASE BRING IN ITEMS FOR THE FOOD DRIVE Today in math, we worked on multiplying a whole number by a fraction and a fraction by a fraction. We also have a math quiz tomorrow. In science, we did a experiment called the oil slick.
We have a Science test on Friday. Study sheets went home today. It was more multiplication of fractions in class today, with Lesson 7.6 in the Practice book for homework, both sides.
