Room 12 has math homework tonight (Practice Book 4.1), but Room 15 does not-- we ran out of time before the lesson was clear to everyone.
Thanks to everyone who brought in "greens" for our composting project. If you can bring more in, by all means keep helping! No dairy, no meat-- they attract pests. Vegetable peelings, fruit rinds and cores, coffee grounds, and lawn cuttings (grass, weeds) work best. Tomorrow is the Fun Run for the Boosterthon fundraiser. Kids should wear clothing appropriate to run in. Thanks for all of the pledges, and keep them coming! Tonight's homework is Practice Book 4.3, both sides, in math.
Science homework is to bring in a plastic bag of "greens" for our class and group compost bins. "Greens" would be vegetable peels, fruit rinds, apple cores, coffee grounds, and other organic matter-- Google it if you're not sure about what to bring. The "Fun Run" for the Boosterthon is on Thursday. Thanks to everyone who has brought in pledges for our class and school! Keep up the good work and get a pledge or two if you can! Tonight, students in Room 12 have Practice Book lesson 4.2, both sides, for homework.
Room 15 students elected to use the "no homework night " reward that they earned from the Boosterthon fundraiser, so no written assignment for them! The Fun Run is Thursday morning-- keep those pledges coming and thanks for supporting Shaw School! We also need donations of "greens" for the class composting project scheduled for later this week. "Greens" in a compost pile are organic matter--- vegetable peels, apple cores, old coffee grounds, potato shavings and the like. Such garbagetastic donations can be brought in on Wednesday or Thursday for our Friday project. No written homework tonight. We took a math test today and worked with the ST Math program. In Science we looked at food chains and food webs via the "Eat or Be Eaten" game.
