In Math today, Room 15 students reviewed multiplication of mixed numbers, while Room 12 looked at fractions in terms of division (e.g. 12 fourths = 12 divided by 4, etc.) No homework was assigned.
In Science, Room 12 took notes and learned about different kinds of energy (mechanical, electrical, etc), while Room 15 worked on a variety of independent activities while some children finished their Chapter 8 quizzes.

Today in Math, Room 15 went over how to multiply with mixed numbers. I gave the students a "help sheet" to assist them tonight in completing their homework, which is Practice Book Lesson 7.9. Room 15 had a substitute teacher for Science while I attended a meeting, so I did not assign any homework in that class.
Room 12 did a second lesson this morning on division of whole numbers by fractions. Homework is Practice Book 8.2. In Science the class went over their answers to the Energy worksheet they did for homework last night. Today, Room 12 started a new chapter in our Science book, about different kinds of energy. They have a worksheet to complete on Chapter 13, Lesson 1 for homework. Room 15 does not have Science homework, as the class worked on their Chapter 8 quizzes today.
Room 12 started a new chapter in Math, too, on division of fractions. Their homework is Practice Book 8.1, both sides. Room 15 worked on comparing mixed number products and their factors. Their homework is Practice Book 7.8, both sides. Back to the land of Weebly!
Room 12 had a Chapter 7 test today, while Room 15 did the Mid-Chapter Quiz again, trying to improve their grades from the first time they tried it. No homework for either class in that subject. In Science, Room 15 got some study notes for a quiz tomorrow on Chapter 8, while Room 12 took the quiz. Room 15 was assigned to read over the notes tonight to familiarize themselves with the words and language. |
