Today is "Crazy Hat/Crazy Hair" Day n support of Juvenile Dermatomyostis (JD). Students may wear their hats (and hair) during class, as long as it's not a disruption.
We're continuing our study of long division in math, while taking a closer look at animal adaptations in Science class. Progress reports for the first academic term will be sent home this week

Today we'll have the Student of the Month assembly at 1:15. There are always many deserving students, so I compare it to when I give out "Woolies" to 5th graders who are following directions or trying their best. One student or another may be chosen, but there are many others who could have won the prize. Congratulations to the many students in our class who do the right thing with great consistency.
Today in math class we'll advance our study of division with two digit divisors, and some students will finish their math quizzes from yesterday. Room 15 will examine the life cycle of the butterfly in Science class, but Room 12 will miss Science due to the assembly. In Math today we'll have a mid-chapter quiz, covering the division we've been working on in class. The quiz will not have items like last night's homework, which involves a skill that the kids are still struggling quite a bit with.
In Science we'll take a closer look at the life cycle of the butterfly. We'll review what we know about animal classification as well. Students are encouraged to wear blue today to commemorate the World Day of Bullying Prevention. We will have an assembly at 1:30 to mark the occasion as well.
Today we will study estimation with compatible numbers in math class, and continue our discussion of the butterfly life cycle in Science. |
