Today, the students in Room 15 experimented with "Mystery Powders," testing them for solubility, texture, and reaction with vinegar and cabbage juice. More of the same for them on Thursday, and Room 12 starts tomorrow.
Homework for both classes is Practice Book 5.3 in Math, both sides. Remember, it's the 5th grader's homework, not the parent's. If a good faith effort is put in without completion of the assignment, write me a note to that effect and call it a night! No written homework tonight, as we didn't quite finish the topic we were working on in math class. Have a good night!
We have the rare "homework over the weekend" tonight, a "Morning Math" worksheet to finish from class time. It's called "Holiday Morning Math," and it's on the Google Classroom for any who can't locate it in the weekend shuffle.
Tonight's math homework is Practice Book 5.1, both sides.
We also have Science homework, but some students finished it in class. The assignment was to use a reading about measuring and observing matter to write five questions and answers that would be useful to the class in understanding the topic. Students worked with a partner to begin the activity in class, so some have one or two questions to do tonight, while others have none. Please make sure your 5th grader understands what he or she is supposed to do. Friday on the horizon already? Unheard of! |
