There's a math test on Thursday, so tonight's homework is a practice test, with sample questions about all of the decimal concepts and procedures we've learned so far.
In Science we began planning the long-awaited five paragraph essay, with some students writing about sloths while others wrote about elephants. And it's snowing as I type this. VERY excited fifth graders here... VERY excited.

Today we learned how to subtract decimals. Also we learned how to use subtracting decimals in word problems. Then next week we will do a 5 paragraph essay with elephant or a sloth as an option. No homework to night. By Anais "Hello parents" Today we learned to subtract decimals. We also had our science test today. Homework is 3.9 in the practice book and morning math.
Today in Science class we played a long game of Kahoot to help us prepare for our Wednesday Science test. The kids have the day off tomorrow, but they still have homework... Practice Book 3.7 in Math, and to use their study sheets to study for the Science test.
Tomorrow is Election Day and the building will be used for voting. We took a quiz in math class today, covering reading and writing decimals, decimal place value, rounding, comparing, and ordering. Most of the class also got to practice their Good Old Long Division.
In Science class the students wrote paragraphs about their apple bobbing devices from yesterday, then studied a little for their test next week. The test will be on Wednesday for Room 12 and on Thursday for Room 15... postponed from Monday, as the students haven't yet had enough time to study together in class. Have a great weekend! |
