Tonight's math homework is Lesson 2.5 in the Practice Book, both sides. If the Red Sox win the first game of the World Series tonight, there's no written homework for Rooms 12 or 15 in math or science on Wednesday!
There's also a homework assignment from the P.E. teacher, Mr. McKeon. It's a piece of paper with a set of questions about... the World Series! It's due next Tuesday. Please emember to sign and send back the first term progress reports that were given to students last Friday.

Today was Picture Day-- the kids looked great in their photogenic best!
Tonight we have Practice Book Lesson 2.9, both sides, for math homework. If your child has not yet turned in his or her progress report signed by a parent or guardian, please send it in tomorrow. Thanks! Today was sort of an upside down day-- we had math during science time, and science during math. It didn't much matter.. they still have Lesson 2.7 in the Practice Book to complete by tomorrow, along with this week's "Morning Math." Both can also be found in the Google Classroom.
Tomorrow is a 5th grade SPIRIT DAY-- in honor of the Red Sox quest for the World Series this week. Students are encouraged to wear New England sports team gear to show their class spirit! We did a little activity during Science class today to help the kids study for Friday's Science test, but there's no substitute for sitting down with the study sheet. I'll try to upload it to the Google Classroom tonight, but the students should have brought it home with them.
Homework in Math is Lesson 2.7, both sides, due not tomorrow but Friday (due to an assembly scheduled during math time tomorrow). Please don't let math homework time for your 5th grader stretch on for hours and hours--- or even more than an hour. If 30-40 minutes of effort are put in and your child doesn't understand what to do, write me a note and have him or her pass in what they have. I put a new link on the Google Classroom last night to a page that has more copies of the Practice Book homework sheets. They look a little different in terms of format, but the problem examples are exactly the same. Lucky us! Please only use it in times of dire need-- bring your homework home with you!!
Tonight it's Practice Book Lesson 2.8, both sides. We're skipping 2.7 until tomorrow. Also, there's a Science test Friday. I gave a study sheet to the kids this afternoon. |
